Black Work Boots In The Dirt

Get to know us in a new way

Behind the Land O'Lakes, Inc. businesses, a co-op for common good

Many people are still getting to know Land O’Lakes as a business that does more than make butter. Yes, we are proud of our butter...and animal nutrition and crop inputs and insights too. We are a farmer-owned cooperative that reaches, quite literally, from farm to fork.

We’re also proud of the Land O’Lakes Foundation, a non-profit marking 20 years of community investment and engagement, relieving hunger, supporting education and bringing much-needed assistance to our communities.

And, Land O’Lakes International Development—now a 501(c)(3) non-profit affiliated with Land O’Lakes—celebrating 36 years of implementing donor-funded projects that help our neighbors around the world build economies by strengthening local agriculture, helping businesses create jobs and linking farmers to markets.

Finally, as of 2016, we’re proud of our Land O’Lakes SUSTAIN business, using our unique farm-to-fork view of agriculture to help preserve our land, water and air for future generations. We are more than our businesses. We are a way of doing business that is unique in the world.

It’s time to get to know us in a new way.

Beyond our numbers are stories of real people and changed lives

We work with Jesse Cornelius, agriculture teacher and FFA advisor to the Nettleton, Mississippi high school where over 100 students learn about modern farming and grow much-needed fresh food for their community food bank.

Victor Kipkorir, an engineer-turned-tomato-farmer, runs a business that got a leg up through an innovative technology brought to the market by the Land O’Lakes International Development team in Kenya.

Land O’Lakes members, Dickie and Janise Edwards, fourth-generation farmers, created a first-of-its-kind partnership with the non-profit Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy to dramatically reduce farm run-off into the Chesapeake Bay.

Land O’Lakes goes beyond the businesses we operate and the record-breaking results we achieve. We lift up our neighbors, invest in the common good and work to leave the world a better place than we found it. This is Land O’Lakes and this is how we live our purpose of Feeding Human Progress.

We’re proud to share the story of how we do business. Learn more here.
