We're charting new territory while focusing on the founding principal of our company: Serving the needs of our member-owners. Land O'Lakes, Inc. is launching a new podcast series called “Something Greater,” which will be sent out monthly via the Connections newsletter. We're focusing on member-centric topics such as Legislative Advocacy, Member Engagement, the state of Dairy Foods with the launch of All Together Better, our new marketing campaign, as well as E-Commerce and Ag Tech.
The name itself, “Something Greater,” represents our mission at Land O’Lakes, whether that’s innovative Ag Tech, greater financial return for our member-owners, pushing the envelope in Dairy Foods when developing new products or to feed the world population -- an objective that is truly greater than any one of us.
“This something greater -- those two words tell what the co-op structure is about,” says Beth Ford, President and CEO of Land O’Lakes, Inc. “It’s also our ability to impact our members in their communities all the way up to people around the world.”
“Something Greater” is also an opportunity to elevate our leadership voices on new platforms in talking about the good work that goes on in our cooperative each day. It’s equally important to spread awareness about our mission of feeding human progress.
We’ve always embraced new ways to reach our member owners, starting with the “Land O'Lakes News” pamphlet in 1925, to our first radio program on WCCO radio which hit the airwaves in 1927, and to “Cooperative Partners” -- a magazine written in part by Land O'Lakes -- first published in 1987.
Podcasts are growing in popularity, with more than a quarter of Americans listening monthly and nearly half who say they’ve listened to a podcast, according to data from Edison Research. During our first season, you can expect to hear unique perspectives from our executive leaders who are driving innovation, including Land O’Lakes President and CEO Beth Ford, who recently was named one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women.
