ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (Oct. 1, 2018) – Land O’Lakes, Inc. president and CEO Beth Ford today issued the following statement regarding the Sept. 30 announcement that a trade agreement has been reached between the United States, Canada and Mexico:

"This agreement is promising news for U.S. farmers, who have been watching trade negotiations closely as they continue to weather record low prices. We are encouraged that this trilateral agreement achieves several of our key priorities for a new trade deal, including eliminating Canada’s unfair Class 7 milk pricing system, improving market access for dairy exports to Canada and maintaining dairy market access in Mexico. We continue to urge Congress and the Administration to move ahead with speed on these efforts to enhance trade and open new markets for U.S. farmers at this critical time."
